Viscious Cycle

I am having asthma symptoms, my chest is tight and I'm short of breath, which causes me to get panicked.

I have not had asthma symptoms in a few years.
I had that virus last month, then allergies and now asthma.
I don't know what to do really.

I've been taking some Oil of Oregano and vitamin C. I just started Oregamax tonight, it has helped a little.

I did use my nebulizer a few times BUT it makes me feel miserable, it causes my nervous system to freak and therefore I panic anyway.

Have you been to a doctor lately? Maybe it would be good for you to have a thorough check-up. I'm worried about how sick you've been. Hope you feel better soon.

As a fellow asthmatic I know the feeling that follows a nebulizer treatment. Perhaps it will help you to know that the shaking is not a nervous system reaction but more a matter of the medication affecting the fine muscles and causing a tremor. Do you have a regular inhaler? While not as effective as a nebulizer treatment, it also doesn't cause quite as much reaction. Also, the adverse reaction to albuterol tends to decrease with continued usage.

If your asthma is allergy induced, it helps to do what you can to avoid common allergens. If you've been outside, be sure to shower and at least rinse your hair to remove pollen, especially before going to bed. Wash your sheets at least once a week in HOT water. Since Jared sleeps in your bed, he needs to bathe/shower and wash/rinse his hair if he's been outdoors, too. It makes a huge difference if you can avoid dust and pollen, at least while sleeping.

Hope you feel better soon!

I have the same exact reaction to the albuterol - or any asthma meds for that matter. They make me shake - and a nervous wreck.
I also get rapid heartbeat.
I hope you feel better soon.

I have to agree with the washing the hair before bed thing - that does help. But I always had as bad of a reaction - maybe worse to the inhalers. You have to see what works for you.

Oil of Oregano gave Kullen a ton of relief. We had little capsules - like vitamin E - and it really warded off his last attack.

You seem to be spinning from one problem to the next my friend!
The devil is out to get you!
Just kidding - I don't mean to make light of the spiritual aspect of the world - just trying to make you laugh so you can cough your a$$ off!

I don't have any real advice. Short of cleaning the house of dust and staying in. Which doesn't help if the kiddos want to go outside.

Thinking of you. Especially in these hot days.
